Valentine's Day 2006

Allyson's perspective:

I met Troy through my friend Aubry. Aubs invited me to a pre-Valentine's Day party, a "find a date for Valentine's Day" kind of deal. I didn't want to go, the party sounded so lame! The guys had to wear white and the girls had to wear red...enough said. Besides, I had no interest in finding a date for Valentine's Day. I was looking forward to going out with Aubry and some other friends. I tried to wiggle out of going and even tried to enlist one of my guy friends to come with me and pretend to be my boyfriend, but he flaked on me so I went solo. When I walked in I saw this cute guy dancing by himself, trying so hard to get the party started. Even though we'd never met I knew instantly it was Troy.

My instincts were right, the party was AWFUL, but Troy kept making me laugh all night cracking jokes about how bad it was. We hit it off right away. As I was driving away Aubry honked her horn to get me to stop and when I rolled down my window she said "Oh my God! Troy is the biggest Dodger fan, you guys should totally go to some games together!" I guess Troy had spotted the Dodgers sticker on the back of my car. He found me on Myspace the next day and we started emailing back and forth.

Troy ended up coming out with us on Valentine's Day (where we shared our first kiss) and the next weekend we went on a group trip to Monterey. We drove up together with my cousin Renee, talking about baseball and singing Beatles tunes. By the end of that weekend I was head-over-heels in love, and we've been together ever since!

Troy's Perspective:

What started out as one of the worst parties I've ever been to turned into me meeting the girl of my dreams. Ever since the moment I saw her smile I knew she was an angel. And when I saw the Dodger sticker on the back of her blue convertible mustang I thought she was the coolest. And after I found out she was an opera singer and heard Allyson's beautiful voice I fell in love and knew she was the girl for me.

Ever since then we've grown stronger each day and have an undeniable bond that is wonderfully special, as natural as it was when I first kissed her on Valentine's Day. We have spent almost every day together since we first met.
